Olivia Shannon, daughter of Allen and Karen Shannon of Jefferson, skipped the Bell Tower Festival last weekend to compete in the Hershey State Track and Field Meet in Marshalltown. She earned the honor by placing first in the local competition hosted by the Jefferson park and recreation department in April.
Olivia won the state title in the standing long jump in the 9-10 age bracket with a jump of 6′ 7″. She also competed in the 200m run, placing 12th with a time of 35.31, and in the 400m run, placing 10th with a time of 1:18.
